Opportunities

For the 2023-2024 season, Laurent will take up the position of Assistant Conductor at the Orchestre national de Lyon, where he will conduct concerts and assists Artistic Director Nikolaj Szeps-Znaijder as well as renowned guests conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Simone Young or Giordan Nikolic.

His successful year at Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège resulted in no less than three reinvitations for concerts in January, April and May, developing further his relationship with the orchestra. Other reinvitations came from Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden, Orchestre de l’IMEP or Crans-Montana Classics Festival.

The Basel Sinfonietta also extended Laurent’s contract for another year, which highlights include a conducting debut at the Klang! Festival in Copenhagen in June and a mega-project with the NDR Big Band and the Chorwerk Ruhr at the Ruhrtiennal in Bochum right at the start of the season in September.

Last but not least, the development of Valéik of which Laurent is musical director and principal conductor, also brings its share of concerts, with highlights such as Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto with rising star Samuel Niderhauser, as well as Mendelssohn’s 3rd Symphony or Schönberg Kammersinfonie.
